Here are some of your fellow alumni who were recognised for their outstanding contributions to society in New Year Honours 2025.
Poppy Baroness Gustafsson CBE (BSc Mathematics 2003, Hon DSc 2022) was made Commander of the Order of the British Empire for her services to the Cyber Security Industry.
Professor Andrew Levers OBE (PG Dip Structural Integrity 1999) was made Officer of the Order of the British Empire for his services to Industry and the Economy.
Dr Kay Linnell OBE (MBA Business Administration 1990) was made Officer of the Order of the British Empire for her services to Justice.
Dr Paul Roberts OBE (MPhil Ancient History and Classical Archaeology 1988, PhD Ancient History and Classical Archaeology 1993) was made Officer of the Order of the British Empire for his services to Archaeology and to Heritage.
Nicole Campbell MBE (BA English Literature 1999) was made Member of the Order of the British Empire for her services to People with Aphasia.
Professor Elaine Margaret Hay MBE (MB ChB Medicine 1979) was made Member of the Order of the British Empire for her services to Medical Research.
Julian Nicholas Horsler MBE (BA Politics 1992) was made Member of the Order of the British Empire for his services to Equality, Accessibility and Inclusion.
Bryony Page MBE (BSc Biology 2015, Hon LittD 2023) was made Member of the Order of the
British Empire for her services to Trampoline Gymnastics.
Charles James Turner MBE (MBA Advanced Manufacturing Management 2020) was made Member of the Order of the British Empire for his services to Manufacturing and
Business in Sheffield.
Sir Leszek Krzysztof Borysiewicz GBE (Hon MD 2010) was made Knight Grand Cross of the Order of the British Empire for his services to Cancer Research, Clinical Research, Medicine and Charities.
