University of Sheffield climbing the rankings

It’s been a record year of achievements for the University which has seen us.

Regain our position in the top 100 of the QS World University Rankings. We are ranked 92nd in the world and 15th in the UK, meaning we have climbed 13 places in the world and 2 places in the UK.

Remain top of the Russell Group in the latest National Student Survey for the third year in a row with Sheffield’s SU ranked best Students’ Union among all UK universities.

Rank among the top 20 in the UK within the Guardian 2025 Complete University Guide,
a rise of two places from last year.

Named runner-up for University of the Year 2025 by The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2025, as well as having risen in the rankings to 14th best university in the UK. 

Ranked as the top university in the Russell Group for student experience and support by the Daily Mail University Guide.      

Lead the UK in attracting more research income and investment in engineering than any other UK university, according to the latest figures from the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA).

Secure a place within the top 100 universities in the prestigious Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2025.
